İffet Zuğurli, who witnessed the PKK's founding congress, said that the PKK's first congress awakened the Kurds and that the last congress would bring peace. Zuğurli said, "I want to host Leader Apo here again, in our home on the Fis Plain."

Since historic call of Abdullah Öcalan on 27 February, the government and the state have “only” made wishes instead of taking concrete steps. After the PKK’s announcement of its congress decisions on 12 May, all eyes turned to the steps to be taken by the state.
Speaking at the PKK congress, KCK Executive Council Co-Chair Cemil Bayık said, "Every step Leader Apo has taken so far has resulted in victory for us, for our people, for our movement, and for humanity."
Commemorations will be held in dozens of provinces and districts for PKK's leading cadres Ali Haydar Kaytan and Rıza Altun.
Greeting the decisions taken at the PKK congress, "As eternal guides, they will live on and be kept alive in our struggle," Abdullah Öcalan said of Ali Haydar Kaytan and Rıza Altun, who lost their lives.
PKK leaders Rıza Altun and Ali Haydar Kaytan are commemorated in Tuzluçayır neighbourhood.
