'WE CAN'T RECIEVE ANY INFORMATION ABOUT HIS HEALTH'

Doctors who spoke to Kaya's family on March 26, said: "Your father is a bit better then when he was brought here. His internal organs have suffered great damage from the stroke. He will be staying at the ICU for a while. Our priority now is his heart. We will deal with the brain later". But 3 days after the dialogue with the doctors, Kaya was taken to the prison's hospital ward. Daughter Dilan Kaya who stated that they were only able to speak with the doctors once, said they were not able to recieve any information on their father's health and that they are worried for his life."

Stating that his father suffers from chronic diseases like diabetes, blood pressure, asthma, bronchitis, rhythm disorder, osteoporosis and Alzheimer's, Kaya noted that his father had two heart operations and that he had a prosthetic heart valve. Kaya stated that his father had a heart attack and a brain hemorrhage after the prison administration did not provide the medicine named Coumadin, said that his father's condition worsened due to the negligence of the prison. Kaya warned that the prison administration and the government will be responsible if anything happens to her father. Kaya also pointed out that they found the medicine and brought it to the prison but the prison did not deliver the medicine to her father stating that it is forbidden to give anything to the prisoner from outside.

Kaya, who said she is very worried for the life of her father, said: "We are concerned. He can get the coronavirus there and he has many chronic diseases. We are afraid for his life."

Stating that his father has been in prison for 10 years with life imprisonment sentence, Kaya asked for the release of all severely ill prisoners like his father. "My father cannot sustain his own life in prison. He is a person in need of care. All prisoners in his condition must be released."
