TJA: Free Nasrin Sotoudeh!

DIYARBAKIR - TJA requested the release of Nesrin Sotoudeh, who was arrested in Iran and sentenced to 38 years in prison.

 
The Free Women's Movement (TJA) made a statement about Iran's lawyer Nesrin Sotoudeh' arrested and sentenced to prison, and emphasized the institutionalization of male-dominated mentality, stressed that women have been fighting against it for centuries. Although the characterization of the nation/states resembles each other in the Middle East, individually they are different than each other in terms of historical background and formation was emphasized in the statement and attentions were driven to AKP's misogynistic policies.

In the statement where there are mistreatment policies against women globally, "Iran, one of the states in which male-dominated ideology has institutionalized itself; It tries to suppress women and society with racist, religious abuse and sexist policies. Women who rebel against this oppression and unequal system on every ground they find and carry out the struggle for freedom are sentenced to the most severe punishments. For advocating anti-headscarf women and opposition politicians; lawyer and human rights defender Nesrin Sotoudeh was sentenced to 148 whips and 38 years in prison. As TJA, we embrace the struggles of all women who resist the oppression and attacks of the male-dominated mentality in the Middle East.We support the petition about Nasrin Sotoudeh at the 'change.org' and we call out to everyone for their support. Nasrin must immediately be freed with no conditions."
