Women in Diyarbakır are on streets with their colors

DİYARBAKIR - In Diyarbakır, thousands of women flocked to the Station Square with the slogan "We organize the resistance, we walk to freedom".

Tevgera Jinên Azad (TJA) and Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Women's Assembly started a rally in Diyarbakır's Station Square this year regarding the March 8 International Women's Day. All the streets and streets leading up to the Station Square before the rally were closed with police barriers. The women from Mardin, Derik, Nusaybin, Kızıltepe and Urfa who join the rally in the early hours gathered all the attention with their colorful and local clothes. Women frequently chanted slogans: “Woman life freedom”, “There is no obedience, there is resistance”, “Jin jiyan azadi” and “Bê Serok jiyan nabe”.
 
POLICE RESTRAINT IS PROTESTED
 
On the other hand, members of the Dicle Amed Women's Platform (DAKP), Confederation of Public Workers Union (KESK), members of the TJA, HDP Women's Assembly, HDP Women's Assembly The Peace Mothers Assembly and many women marched with the banners that read "We have the power to change our words" and "Bijî 8'ê Adarê (Long live the March 8)" in their local clothes. 
 
Police restrained and gathered the banners women carried on the grounds that they were not reported to the police. The women protested with slogans "We will win the resistance".
 
In the rally, where women flock as hundreds, the People's Democratic Party (HDP) Co-Chair Pervin Buldan and TJA Spokesperson Ayşe Gökkan will speak to the women.
