Syrian Ministry of Health announced the first death from coronavirus on Sunday.
The woman died upon her arrival in the hospital’s emergency department, according to SANA. A coronavirus test confirmed she was infected.
The Ministry of Health confirmed a total of five cases in the country on March 26 after having reported its first case on March 22.
The Ministry announced on Sunday that four more cases of coronavirus have been detected in the country, bringing the total number to 9.
