Paylan asks Minister Koca: Why are you allowing private hospitals to charge fees? 2020-03-30 13:30:30   ANKARA- Despite the circular issued by the Ministry of Health, HDP MP Garo Paylan said that private hospitals demand fees from citizens and asked the Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca why did they allow this.   Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Diyarbakır Deputy Garo Paylan stated that a fee was requested for the coronavirus (Kovid-19) tests and treatment in private hospitals, and tabled a parliamentary question regarding the issue, with the request of the Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca to answer.   In the circular issued by the Ministry of Health on March 20, Paylan reminded that citizens can apply to hospitals, state and foundation university hospitals and all private health institutions free of charge until their diagnosis of the coronavirus is finalized and that the treatment will be carried out free of charge as well and asked the Minister of Health the following questions:   * Why do you allow private hospitals to charge exorbitant fees to treat coronavirus patients?   * Why do you not provide free and equal treatment to all our citizens by expropriating private hospitals that provide coronavirus treatment, as Spain did?   * Why not issue a circular declaring that coronavirus treatment is completely free in all hospitals, without any public-private distinction?
