From Urfa border: We are refugees in our own country 2019-10-13 17:39:14 URFA - While the operation against North and East Syria spreads to the entire border line, soldier, ÖSO, ambulance and funeral vehicle mobility increased in Urfa. Citizens who live at the border and had to evacuate their homes, reacted to the situation and said: "We've become refugees in our own country." The opertion is on its 5th day with the El-Kaide linked groups Turkey brought together under the name Syrian National Army. While violent clashes continue, Urfa's Akçakale, Suruç, Birecik and Ceylanpınar are the districts who feel the war more intensely. Citizens living in Suruç and Birecik are determined not to leave their homes while ambulance mobility increased in Ceylanpınar and Akçakale.   The attacks of Turkish Armed Forces positioned in the neighborhoods of Suruç border line against Kobané continues increasing. When the district governer of Suruç decided the district to be evacuated the other day, pressure on the citizens increased. Some citizens who insist not to leave their homes are worried that FSA militants will be vacate their empty homes.    Suruç District Government who had a meeting with the neighborhood headmen who want to learn the list of people rejecting to leave their houses, information came that the Governer will issue a circular regarding the evacuations of villages.   Al Arabiya reporters who follow up the operation during the the day were taken under custody due to their report stating FSA is hitting civillians.  While all the villages and hamlets of the district near the border were evacuated, very few civilians remained in the town center. While some of the citizens who left the district settled in the refugee camp in Harran district, some of the citizens who went to the refugee camp reacted saying 'We became refugees in our own country.'
