The commission's decision will pave the way for the process says Erdogan 2025-11-24 14:42:55   ANKARA - President Erdogan stated in his remarks to journalists that the commission's decision to meet with Abdullah Ocalan would pave the way for the process and contribute to it.    President Tayyip Erdogan answered journalists' questions upon his return from South Africa. Erdogan said that they had coordinated the process as the People's Alliance, adding, "We have close dialogue with both Mr Bahçeli and our colleagues' counterparts in the MHP. We also receive the DEM Party delegation at certain intervals. With this working model, we have brought the process this far without incident."    Erdogan continued: "The commission, chaired by the Speaker of Parliament, has accomplished important work. We also provided every kind of contribution and support to the commission. We took care to keep the process of a Turkey free of terrorism away from the divisive debates of daily politics. We consider the commission's latest decision to be one that paves the way for the process, contributes to it, and will accelerate the elimination of terrorism. We have appointed our Hatay MP, Hüseyin Yayman, to represent our party. Mr Hüseyin is a colleague who has worked on this issue for many years and was previously a member of our Wise Persons' Delegation. Due to his expertise on this subject, Mr Huseyin will participate in the work on behalf of our party. We will continue to act with patience, sincerity, courage and determination until we reach the goal of a terror-free Turkey.”   Erdogan said the following regarding the video message from Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, former leader of the CHP: "We can see that Mr Kılıçdaroğlu is also upset and has rebelled against the snakes he has nurtured among his sheep. He says he is upset by the mindset that has dragged the CHP into a vortex of bribery, embezzlement, theft and corruption. So, there is a bribery machine. He himself admits it. Today, the CHP leadership's sole agenda is to cover up the horrific allegations before the courts, divert attention elsewhere, and make noise to prevent people from seeing the quagmire the party has fallen into. We hope that CHP members can rescue their party from this octopus that has encircled it."
