	NEWS CENTER – The destruction of nature in Gabar Mountain, which is on the agenda with tree cutting, mining and oil works, was reflected in satellite photographs. 

	 

	There has been a serious destruction of nature in Şirnex (Şırnak) geography for the last 5 years. The plunder of nature is particularly concentrated in the Cudi and Gabar Mountains and the Besta Region. 

	 

	Many areas have become barren due to the ongoing forest slaughter in these regions. The destruction in the regions banned under the name of “special security zones” every 15 days is growing day by day. 

	 

	DESTRUCTION IN THE BANNED AREAS

	 

	In addition to the slaughter of trees in Gabar Mountain, habitats are also being destroyed by mining and oil activites. The life of all living creatures is under threat due to the dynamite detonated in the region and the trees cut down. Water sources have started to dry up and become polluted. Tens of thousands of trees were cut down due to the roads opened for oil wells and new fortresses and base areas.

While the photos taken 2 years ago show that there is no destruction on the foothills and peaks of the mountain, the satellite photos of 2025 show that there is not a single point of the mountain that has not been destroyed and excavated.
