Journalist Bilen: We are in prison because exposed about the real criminals 2020-10-20 13:45:29   VAN- Sending a letter from the prison he's being held, our reporter Adnan Bilen said: "We are not here because we committed a crime, we are here because we exposed the real criminals."   Our reporter Adnan Bilen who was detained on October 6 and arrested on October 9 because they exposed the dropping of two villages from the helicopter by Turkish soldiers wrote a letter from Van High Security Prison. Stating that him and Cemil Uğur are being kept under quarantine at the moment, Bilen told that they were ok and no one should stop reporting the truth.   THE COVER OF HIS NOTEBOOK WAS MADE AN EVIDENCE TO A CRIME    Underlining that the accusations against them weren't even enough to get them detained, Bilen said: "But they arrested us and send us here in a snap. Of course this unlawfulness will end. Now think about it. How can the cover of a notebook get a person arrested? Or how can your source you spoke to can be the reason of your arrest? These, and many other absurd things happened to us."   'WE EXPOSED THE CRIMINALS'    Underlining that everyone knows that the reason for their arrest was not the 'crimes' they were accused of, Bilen said: "The reason is that they are trying to intimidate us. They are trying to criminalize journalism and stop people from writing and exposing the truth. Think about it, for a time, writing the rise in the dolar and TL parity was almost a crime. We will continue to write what happens to all of us in the most accurate way and with great will. If this will be punished, we are prepared to carry this with honour. I told the same thing at the court. The accusations at the court was emberassing. It was an insult against journalism. But we know these days will pass. We believe it wholeheartedly. Let me say again. Like our friends jailed before us, we too have never let them crush the honour of the free press and journalism for people. It doesn't matter who accuses us with what."
