Mother of hunger striking prisoner: His life is in danger 2020-07-29 12:01:14   MERSİN - Meliha Temur, mother of Ümit Temur who is on a hunger strike with 4 other prisoners in Aksara Prison said: "The lives of our children are in danger."   The hunger strike Bışar Bilen, Muhammed Fatih Bingöl and Ümit Temur who are being held in Aksaray Type T Closed Prison demanding the termination of the imposation of standing up during counts and the violations of rights continues. The number of hunger strikers increased to 5 when Bahattin Çelebi and İhsan Taşdelen started a hunger strike on July 24 with the same demands.   'LET THEM BE HEARD'   Meliha Temur (40), mother of Ümit Temur (23) who was arrested on allegations of 'damaging public property' and 'aiding and abetting an illegal organization' stated that she spoke to her son last friday. Mother Temur telling that her son told him they will continue the hunger strike until their demands are met, said: "We want our people to hear the voices of our children and support them" and added that they will end the hunger strike when their demands are met. Mother Temur said: "We are afraid of recieving bad news. We still haven't been able to recover from the hunger strike last year. How can they recover from it in prison? We have'nt forgot about those days."   THEIR LIVES ARE IN DANGER    Drawing attention to the coronavirus outbreak, Temur said: "There is already the risk of virus. We are very afraid that they will be infected with the virus in a week state. There are no measures taken against the coronavirus and now there are these violations of rights. They didn't even give them a mask. And they are being held in cells all alone. The lives of our children are in danger."
